Mommy Steps

My wife upgraded to a Flickr Pro account! My wife, a girl, saw value in a subscription based web application! Suddenly I feel validated.

This isn’t the only step up to common geekery in recent weeks. The other day she actually asked me about RSS feeds. Yeah, I know! I even explained them in a way that she seemed to be able to grasp. She also turned me on to the absolute best Podcast in the entire world. Last year she started blogging. I suppose it was just a matter of time before the handiness of the web really started kicking in.

Perhaps someday soon we’ll be planning out family vacations with Basecamp, or we’ll frolick through the internet together via ma.gnolia, or go wine tasting with cork’d. The internet can be a romanticle place.

Dave’s wife plays video games. Ivan’s wife reads graphic novels (comic books). And now my wife is a web publishing geek—just like me! It’s been a good year.
